Bat Colony Removal in Leadore

We install custom one-way exclusion devices at every entry point on the structure. Bats exit naturally but cannot return. The colony vacates in 5 to 10 days depending on size and season. After the colony has left, we remove the devices and seal every opening permanently. No trapping, no poison, no harm to the bats. Every exclusion is compliant with Idaho Fish and Game regulations and federal bat protection law.

About Leadore and the East Central Idaho / Lemhi Valley region

Leadore is a tiny ranching town high in the Lemhi Valley of Lemhi County, in east central Idaho near the Continental Divide and the Montana line at Bannock Pass. The headwaters of the Lemhi River gather near town from streams draining the Lemhi Range to the west and the Beaverhead Mountains to the east, then flow northwest toward Salmon. Born in 1910 as a railroad stop, Leadore now anchors a broad, open valley of hay meadows and cattle ranches framed by snow-capped peaks. Cold winters and a short growing season shape the high valley. The mix of a river-headwaters corridor, sweeping rangeland, scattered ranch buildings, and timbered mountain flanks gives this remote valley distinctive high-country habitat.

The Lemhi River headwaters and the irrigated hay meadows around Leadore concentrate insects over water in an otherwise dry, high valley. Little brown myotis, long-legged myotis, and big brown bats are the hardy species suited to this cold, high-elevation country, roosting in ranch barns, sheds, and homes as well as in rock crevices on the surrounding mountain flanks. Western small-footed myotis also use the rocky terrain of the Lemhi and Beaverhead ranges.

Common questions about bat removal in Leadore

Why can't I just seal the bats in or use poison?

Sealing bats inside is illegal under Idaho and federal law. Poison is prohibited for bats entirely. Humane one-way exclusion is the only legal method and the only method that works permanently.

When is the best time to do bat removal in Idaho?

Spring (March through May) and late summer through fall (August 15 through October) are the two ideal windows. We do not do exclusions during the maternity season when flightless pups are present, roughly June through mid-August, because sealing exits during that period traps juveniles inside.

How long does the process take?

After devices are installed, the colony clears in 5 to 10 days. We then return to remove devices and permanently seal every opening. Total project time is typically one to two weeks depending on colony size and weather.

Do you serve all of Idaho?

Yes. We serve statewide Idaho, from Bonners Ferry in the north to the Utah border in the south. Call us regardless of your location and we will give you a straight answer on whether we can get to you.

How much does bat removal cost in Idaho?

Pricing depends on the building structure and the size of the colony. Call (208) 629-1176 for a straight answer on what your situation requires.
