Bat Colony Removal in Bliss

We install custom one-way exclusion devices at every entry point on the structure. Bats exit naturally but cannot return. The colony vacates in 5 to 10 days depending on size and season. After the colony has left, we remove the devices and seal every opening permanently. No trapping, no poison, no harm to the bats. Every exclusion is compliant with Idaho Fish and Game regulations and federal bat protection law.

About Bliss and the Magic Valley region

Bliss is a small city in Gooding County, in Idaho's Magic Valley, set where the Snake River Plain meets the rim of the Snake River Canyon in south central Idaho. It sits near the mouth of the Malad River gorge and along the old Oregon Trail corridor, now near the junction of Interstate 84 and U.S. 30 heading toward Hagerman. The Snake River bends nearby through deep basalt walls, a stretch famous for spring fed waters, Hagerman fossil beds, and the Thousand Springs region just downstream. Surrounding land is high desert sagebrush flat and irrigated farm ground, with ranching and trout aquaculture important locally. Bliss keeps a compact core of older wood frame homes, farm buildings, and roadside structures set on the dry plain above the canyon.

The basalt cliffs of the nearby Snake River Canyon and Malad gorge, combined with the river and spring fed waters below, create excellent bat habitat around Bliss. Canyon bats and several myotis species, including Yuma and California myotis, forage over the water and shelter in rock crevices in the canyon walls. Big brown bats use both cliff cracks and building roosts, entering attics and barns in town and on surrounding farmsteads during the warm season.

Common questions about bat removal in Bliss

Why can't I just seal the bats in or use poison?

Sealing bats inside is illegal under Idaho and federal law. Poison is prohibited for bats entirely. Humane one-way exclusion is the only legal method and the only method that works permanently.

When is the best time to do bat removal in Idaho?

Spring (March through May) and late summer through fall (August 15 through October) are the two ideal windows. We do not do exclusions during the maternity season when flightless pups are present, roughly June through mid-August, because sealing exits during that period traps juveniles inside.

How long does the process take?

After devices are installed, the colony clears in 5 to 10 days. We then return to remove devices and permanently seal every opening. Total project time is typically one to two weeks depending on colony size and weather.

Do you serve all of Idaho?

Yes. We serve statewide Idaho, from Bonners Ferry in the north to the Utah border in the south. Call us regardless of your location and we will give you a straight answer on whether we can get to you.

How much does bat removal cost in Idaho?

Pricing depends on the building structure and the size of the colony. Call (208) 629-1176 for a straight answer on what your situation requires.
